Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer II - Physical in Minnesota to join our electric substation design team.

You will design projects from 12kV to 500kV, perform analyses, prepare layouts, and ensure code compliance with NESC, NEC, IEEE and ASCE standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in site visits, and support procurement and construction activities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 2–5 years of relevant substation or power engineering experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with high quality and accuracy.
• Strong communication and coordination with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support substation physical design projects with guidance from senior staff.
• Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and project management teams.
• Prepare general arrangements, layouts, and cable/conduit plans.
• Apply codes and standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE, ASCE) to designs.
• Assist in site visits and data collection for projects.
• Contribute to procurement and construction document activities.
