Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Substation Leadman for Canton, MS. You will work on high voltage substations, directing planning, layout, installation, testing, and maintenance under a Foreman.

Qualified candidates have journeyman substation experience and knowledge of HV standards; certifications such as NCCER and OSHA are preferred. This is a full-time on-site role with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have working experience as a Substation Journeyman or equivalent in an industrial construction setting.
• Strong knowledge of project specifications and high voltage electrical and civil industry standards.
• Ability to follow directions and lead safety, quality and productivity for crew.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning, layout, installation, testing, repair, or maintenance of high voltage substation wiring and equipment.
• Lead craft workers under supervision and promote safety programs.
• Ensure zero injuries and safe work practices on site.
• Review timecards for hours and activity designations; report accidents and near misses.
• Lead pre-job safety planning and communicate progress with Foreman.
