Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a senior leader to oversee Substation and UG Network operations across multiple sites in Ohio. The role drives safe, reliable electricity delivery, regulatory compliance, and budget adherence while guiding a team through critical emergencies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring a strong leadership track record in electric utilities, expertise in safety programs, and the ability to align personnel with company goals and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 10 years' relevant training/experience.
• Minimum of 7 years in electric utility industry, leadership preferred.
• Experience with collective bargaining agreements and HR policies.
• Demonstrated safe operations excellence and people leadership.
• Ability to lead teams, promote change and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and analytical skills and ability to work across levels.

Responsibilities

• Foster a high-performing safety culture and empower employees to speak up.
• Establish relationships with peers, staff and union leadership and drive safety and inclusion.
• Implement safety and environmental safeguards to minimize hazards.
• Provide leadership to operational groups and manage goals, priorities and budgets.
• Plan, organize, develop and monitor supervisor and staff performance and development.
• Coordinate staffing and succession planning and engage with unions for staffing needs.
• Oversee emergency response coordination and outage restoration efforts.
