Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EPC Program Lead to lead the substation scope within large EPC infrastructure programs in the Idaho/Boise area and broader Northwest. You will coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and on-schedule execution, while guiding permitting, design, and equipment strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 10 years related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with diverse design teams and strong communication skills.
  • Active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead substation scope within large EPC programs, focusing on technical delivery, coordination and execution with contractors.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, and execution aspects of substation development including site development, permitting and equipment strategy.
  • Plan, direct and monitor all substation scope execution with EPC construction partner and oversee site selection, layout, engineering, environmental planning, permitting and procurement.
  • Coordinate outages, energization, commissioning, and serve as primary interface among owner, engineering teams and EPC contractor.
  • Mentor HDR staff and subconsultants; ensure resources meet scope and contract requirements.
  • Monitor scope, schedule and budget; support change management; engage clients and stakeholders.
