Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team across multiple locations, including remote options. You will recruit, mentor, and guide top engineering talent while delivering on-time, high-quality substation projects and building client relationships.

You will drive business development, strategic growth, and technical excellence, shaping ENERCON's future in power delivery and ensuring success from design through commissioning. Some roles may be remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination.
• Electric Utility experience in the substation function required.
• 3+ years of High Voltage (69 KV+) substation design/analysis; leadership at Associate level or 6+ years with 2 years leadership.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong leadership, creativity, and technical background to grow the substation business.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: recruit, manage and mentor local/remote staff; foster teamwork.
• Client Relationship Management: build and maintain client relationships; ensure quality outcomes.
• Project Execution & Quality: lead projects, perform quality checks, manage scope and budget.
• Business Operations & Reporting: plan budgets, track performance, submit reports.
• Strategic Growth & Marketing: support proposals, client engagement, and growth strategies.
• Market Engagement & Awareness: attend conferences and technical committees.
