Job summary

The MBD Substation Engineering Department of the Hawaiian Electric Company seeks a Manager Supervisor to lead design engineering, project engineering, program management and standards development in support of capital construction and reliable island power systems.

You will manage a department, develop work plans, allocate resources, mentor engineers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the energy delivery organization.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of engineering design, project management, and standards development gained through extensive professional engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures related to engineering activities.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and project management tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct operations of an engineering department to support design, project management, and capital construction programs.
• Develop department work plans and allocate resources to execute the energy delivery capital expenditure program.
• Develop metrics to evaluate progress and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project momentum and resolve issues.
• Direct personnel matters, training, and safety coordination for staff under supervision.
