Job summary

Eversource Energy in Massachusetts is seeking a Lead Engineer, Level 1 to oversee design, maintenance, and operation of transmission and distribution systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant electric service. The role collaborates with peers, mentors engineers, develops Life Cycle Plan, and directs work of staff.

Hybrid schedule requires at least three days in the office, with travel between MA/CT/NH as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Five to eight years of Substation Engineering or related electric utility experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cost and performance of assets on the system, including reliability analysis and trending of system events and monitoring of equipment condition.
• Develops, justifies, and approves Life Cycle Plan activities over a multi-year horizon and for ongoing projects.
• Ensures design and specification of additions, modifications, and replacements to the transmission/distribution systems, and prepares system electrical permits and customer notifications on time.
• Develops preliminary engineering designs and the necessary details.
• Collaborates with other Engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Provides technical support and direction to operating areas during normal and emergency situations.
