Job summary

Eversource Energy seeks a Lead Engineer to oversee the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the transmission and distribution system to meet organizational objectives. The role coordinates system failure evaluation and resolutions to support operations on unplanned maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable and competitively priced electric service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of eight (8) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications: None

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; assigns, prioritizes and directs work performed by at least 2 FTE Engineers.
• Responsible for the cost and performance of certain assets on the system including reliability analysis and trending of system events.
• Develops, justifies and approves the Life Cycle Plan activities over a multi-year horizon.
• Ensures design and specification additions, modifications and replacements to transmission/distribution systems are completed accurately and on time.
• Develops preliminary engineering designs and related details.
• Collaborates with other Engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Provides technical support and direction during normal and emergency situations.
• Root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Evaluation and selection of technology and equipment for the system.
• Development of standards and procedures for design, operation and maintenance.
• Assumes the role of the Manager as required.
• Assist with storm duty and major events.
