Job summary

Eversource Energy in Dorchester, MA is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our Distribution Engineering Team. The role focuses on development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system to deliver reliable service and integrate renewable energy resources.

You will supervise engineers, guide multi-year Life Cycle Plan activities, ensure safe and high-quality designs, and provide technical support during normal and emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8–10 years in the electrical utility industry; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with power-related software is preferred.
• Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop engineers; prioritize and direct work.
• Oversee all distribution systems within the local territory assigned.
• Develop Life Cycle Plan activities over a multi-year horizon.
• Ensure design and specifications for additions/modifications meet high quality standards for safe, reliable service.
• Provide technical support and direction to operating areas during normal and emergency situations.
• Assist with storm duty and other major events as needed.
