Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance, and operation of the transmission and distribution system. You will coordinate lifecycle planning, supervise engineers, and ensure high-quality standards for safe, reliable, and environmentally sound service across the network.

The role involves designing and supporting substation engineering, leading multi-year initiatives, and providing technical direction during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of eight years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; approves time and conducts performance reviews; directs work of at least 2 engineers.
• Manages cost and performance of assets, including reliability analysis and event trends.
• Develops Life Cycle Plan activities over multi-year horizons and for ongoing projects.
• Ensures design, specifications, and permits are completed on time and communicated to customers.
• Develops preliminary engineering designs and associated details as needed.
• Collaborates with other engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Provides technical support and direction during normal and emergency situations.
• Accounts for root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluates technology and equipment; develops standards and procedures for design, operation, and maintenance.
• May assume Manager role as required and assist with storm duty.
