City of Monroe (NC) seeks a Project Engineer specialized in electric substations to design, maintain, and plan substation systems. You’ll work under the Substation and Transmission Engineering Manager, coordinating with operations and field staff on projects and compliance.

You will assist with scheduling maintenance, prepare operating reports, and contribute to long-range planning and cost analyses for improvements, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in electrical or civil engineering; considerable experience in public works or utility engineering.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer license.
• Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.

Responsabilités

• Assist with scheduling maintenance activities for substation equipment and prepare operating reports and spreadsheets to track parameters.
• Assist with long-range planning for the electric system and create cost analysis reports for substation improvements.
• Ensure that substation designs comply with standards and regulations.
• Maintain electric substation assets and as-built prints.
• Serve as Project Engineer on substation system improvements and oversee protection coordination with Transmission and Distribution.
