City of Monroe, NC seeks an experienced professional to coordinate and design electric substation systems, support maintenance planning, and help shape long-range electric system programs.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical/civil engineering, licensing (EIT/PE), and the ability to manage projects, analyze costs, and ensure regulatory compliance. Some field and extended hours may be required.

Competenze

• Thorough knowledge of electrical/civil engineering principles for plans and specs of electric systems.
• Uses modern methods for utility project design and cost analysis.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, orally and in writing.
• Must be able to perform difficult engineering computations and advise on problems.

Mansioni

• Assist with scheduling maintenance for substation equipment and prepare reports and spreadsheets.
• Manage electric substation assets and maintain as-built records.
• Serve as Project Engineer on substation system improvements; oversee protection and SCADA coordination.
• Maintain maintenance and operations manuals for substation equipment and protective relaying.
• Assist operations personnel with operation and maintenance of substations.
