Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a licensed or EIT/PE-aspiring Electrical Engineer to lead the design of medium- and high-voltage substations from concept through construction. You'll mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards while delivering reliable power solutions.

Requirements include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET), 3–8 years of substation experience, and knowledge of SES-CDEGS is

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 3–8 years of substation or power systems design experience.
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage substation design.
• EIT or PE preferred (or pursuing licensure).
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NESC, and NEMA standards; SES-CDEGS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of substation layouts, grounding, protection, and auxiliary systems.
• Develop and review protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction packages.
• Ensure designs meet NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to solve technical challenges and manage risks.

Take the lead on high-impact utility, industrial, and renewable energy projects, designing reliable medium- and high-voltage substations from concept through construction. This is an opportunity to own complex engineering work, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative power solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design of substation physical layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
• Develop and review protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering calculations, and construction packages.
• Ensure designs meet NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards.
• Partner with project managers and clients to solve technical challenges, manage project risks, and support design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across projects.

What We’re Looking For

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 3–8 years of substation or power systems design experience.
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage substation design.
• EIT or PE preferred (or pursuing licensure).
