Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead medium- and high-voltage substation design from concept through construction. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative power solutions on utility, industrial, and renewable energy projects.

Requirements include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) and 3–8 years of substation or power systems design experience, with EIT/PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in substation or power systems design.
• Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage substation design.
• Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NESC, and NEMA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of substation physical layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
• Develop and review protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering calculations, and construction packages.
• Ensure designs meet NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards.
• Partner with project managers and clients to solve technical challenges, manage project risks, and support design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across projects.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 3–8 years of substation or power systems design experience.
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage substation design.
• EIT or PE preferred (or pursuing licensure).
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NESC, and NEMA standards; SES-CDEGS experience is a plus.
