Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a talented Substation Electrician Apprentice (1st–4th year) or Journeyman to join our team in Amarillo, TX, or the Texas Panhandle region. You will participate in a four‑year electrician apprenticeship and learn to construct and maintain electrical substations while collaborating with a safety‑driven team.

Must have a HS diploma/GED, CDL or ability to obtain, CAST test, and willingness to travel; travel and after-hours call outs may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class A CDL or ability to obtain one within 120 days of start.
• Willing to travel extensively for extended periods.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform construction and maintenance on electrical substations for Xcel Energy.
• Communicate effectively and follow instructions; build on prior experience.
• Demonstrate good teamwork and reliability in a field environment.
