Xcel Energy / SPS is seeking a Substation Electrician Apprentice (1st–4th Year) or Journeyman to join the team in Amarillo, TX, or Texas Panhandle region. The role involves learning construction and maintenance on electrical substations and may be filled at Journeyman level based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A CDL or ability to obtain via company training within 120 days.
• Must pass Edison Electric Institute's CAST test.
• Willingness to travel extensively and respond to after-hours calls.
• Must meet safety, quality, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform construction and maintenance on electrical substations.
• Participate in the four-year electrician apprenticeship program (except Journeyman).
• Communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
• Be available for after-hours and weekend call outs.
