Xcel Energy is seeking a Substation Electrician Apprentice (1st–4th Year) or Journeyman to join our team in Amarillo, TX, or across the Texas Panhandle region. This role involves learning construction and maintenance of electrical substations within a four-year apprenticeship framework, with potential to move to Journeyman based on experience.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, CDL or CDL training within 120 days, CAST test, and willingness to travel and respond to after-hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A CDL or ability to attend company-provided CDL training within 120 days of start date.
• Must pass Edison Electric Institute CAST test.
• Willing to respond to after-hours and weekend call outs.
• Willing to travel extensively for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform construction and maintenance on electrical substations as part of the apprenticeship program.
• Communicate effectively and work well with others in a team setting.
• Potentially start as Journeyman based on experience and qualifications.
