Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Substation Electrical Manager – Arcadis, North America to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team in the USA. This senior position involves project management, engineering, proposal development, and business growth within the Power Delivery & Renewable sector. The role requires direct client interface, coordination with various engineering teams, and oversight of project execution according to all applicable standards and policies.

The candidate will coordinate the power delivery & renewable energy team and perform hands-on substation electrical engineering for utility and developer clients across North America. Collaboration with renewable energy sectors (wind, solar, BESS, Green H2) and other Arcadis business units is essential. The role supports improving quality of life through sustainable solutions.

Role accountabilities:

• Participate in all stages of substation design, from concept to asset management.
• Coordinate design activities across disciplines to ensure project schedules and successful completion.
• Lead and participate in project estimates, proposals, and client engagement.
• Manage and mentor the Substation Electrical team, lead design on complex projects, and conduct quality reviews.
• Support business development as Project, Proposal, Program, and Account Manager, and serve as Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure quality assurance/quality control.

This role involves up to 30% travel within North America and potentially internationally. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of substation electrical engineering and design experience in the Power and Utility industry.
• Experience with substation physical layouts, HV/EHV design, and relevant codes and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, and other engineering software.

Preferred:

• PE license.
• Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
