Job summary

WSP USA in San Diego invites electrical engineering interns to join their Summer Internship Program. This full-time internship offers hands-on work on real projects alongside senior staff during a 12-week session starting May 17, 2027 (start date flexible).

As part of the Power and Energy Team, you will learn fundamentals of electrical engineering, assist with research, design calculations, and help prepare designs and cost estimates while maintaining project documentation, under mentorship and

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to develop skills on WSP projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from mentors and managers on projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support prep of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Note: no relocation or housing assistance provided.
