Job summary

WSP USA in Lakewood, CO is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern for its Summer Internship Program. Open to undergrad or graduate students, the 12-week program begins May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

The intern will support engineering tasks, learn electrical engineering basics, assist with research, design calculations, and documentation while gaining mentorship and networking opportunities through the Developing Professionals Network.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering program with planned graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and drive to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
