Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern (Substation) to join our Burnsville, MN office, with considered locations in Burnsville and Minneapolis, MN. This temporary role targets undergrad or graduate students for a 12-week summer internship starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with senior staff, and participate in a mentoring network while contributing to various engineering tasks and documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering and related field and ability to learn through projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering and develop technical skills.
