Job summary

WSP USA in Burnsville, MN is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern (Substation) for its 12-week summer internship program starting May 17, 2027. The role offers hands-on exposure to real projects and mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

As an intern, you will support engineering tasks, learn basic EE principles, perform preliminary design work, and assist with documentation and cost estimates under supervision.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Interest in electrical engineering and desire to grow in WSP projects.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from mentors and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Support project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Help prepare final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Contribute to maintaining project documentation and records.
