Job summary

WSP Maitland, Florida is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery Substation Team. The role involves detailed design work for substations, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts. Ideal candidates hold a BSEE or BSEET, 0–1 year of experience, a minimum GPA of 2.75, and are proficient in English.

Qualifications

BSEE or BSEET degree from an accredited university (power option preferred).
0-1 years of experience.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Relocation to the Orlando area with minimal assistance.
Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Design low to extra-high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and layout work.
Prepare ground grid, foundation, structures, enclosure, and protection-related details.
Support QA/QC for client deliverables and adhere to project standards.
Learn and follow client standards and processes in a team setting to complete complex designs.
Involve in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.
