Job summary

WSP is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer for our Maitland, Florida office. You will contribute to the Power Delivery Substation Team, supporting the detailed design of substations from one-line diagrams to grounding and yard layouts.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a BSEE or BSEET degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher expected.
• 0–1 year of related electrical engineering experience.
• Must be able to relocate to the Orlando area with minimal assistance.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong command of English with good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of substations including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and communications.
• Create station layouts, ground grids, and foundation/structural details.
• Develop bills of materials and participate in site visits.
• Support QA/QC for client deliverables and adhere to safety policies.
• Learn client standards and procedures while contributing to team projects.
