Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Florida with 1–3 years of experience to support due diligence, design, and construction of electric infrastructure for utilities, industrial, and commercial projects.

You will assist with data collection, substation component specs, and pricing, and you will prepare drawings, calculations, and reports under minimal supervision while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of post-education electrical engineering experience.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
• Knowledge of safety, codes, regulations and record-keeping requirements.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis for substation components and design reviews.
• Create electrical drawings including single-line, three-line, and layouts.
• Provide technical assistance on equipment sizing, cabling, and grounding designs.
• Support senior engineers with research and recommendations for design requirements.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, feeder sizing, voltage drop, and grounding.
• Write technical reports documenting findings and conclusions with sketches and calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across project controls, permitting, procurement, and field staff.
• Assist with field/site work planning and permitting as required.
