Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EIT/Designer to join our Power Delivery team in the United States. The role covers engineering drawings, analyses, and design work for substations, with opportunities to grow in Protection & Control and Physical HV design.

You will work under senior engineers, preparing calculations, sketches, and redlines, while coordinating with project teams and CAD technicians. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses and designs for electrical substations under supervision.
• Develop knowledge in Protection & Control (Indoor) and Physical (Outdoor) HV substation design.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Project Engineer.
• Prepare calculations, design sketches and redline drawings.
• Develop drawings with CAD to meet national design standards and project specs.
• Create one-line diagrams, protection/control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, grounding layouts.
