Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Power Design Coordinator in Rapid City, SD. You will conduct analyses to develop power-related design options, prepare project deliverables, and support engineers on diverse substation projects.

You will work with project engineers, EITs, designers, or BIM specialists, performing routine assignments and driving clear, objective project outcomes in a dynamic employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options and assist in preparing project deliverables (e.g., engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, specifications).
• Perform routine engineering tasks using standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.

In the role of Power Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
