Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EIT/Coordinator to join our Power group in San Antonio, Texas. You will conduct analyses to develop design options, prepare project deliverables, and work with engineers to advance substation projects.

Preferred candidates include those pursuing an EIT; if not, you will be placed into a Design Coordinator track with clear opportunities for career progression within HDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options and assist in project deliverables.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring standard techniques.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, other EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Substation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)

Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures

Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.

Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects

Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In‑Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
