Qualifications

• 2 years experience as a Technician in the Substation line of progression or equivalent.
• 60 quarter credits in an approved engineering/technical program as specified by the Department or a recognized degree.
• Pass an entrance examination as specified by the Department.
• Proficiency in drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, CAD tools, and engineering terms.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, catalogs, and create construction documents.
• Create detailed layouts and set-up for substation equipment per standards.
• Provide material estimates and prepare bills of material from standardized lists.
• Guide and assist less senior staff and help with training.
