Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Civil Engineer (Engineer III or Senior Engineer) for the Substation Engineering team in downtown Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on design of distribution and transmission substations from 4kV through 345kV in Ohio and Kentucky, handling routine to complex projects with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include structural and foundation design, drawing reviews, and engineering support during construction.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Engineering or PE.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
• Master's degree in engineering may substitute for BS.

Responsibilities

• Structural steel design for substations.
• Reinforced concrete design and foundation design (mat, spread footer, drilled shaft).
• Review site development designs and drawings.
• Provide engineering/technical guidance on problems of increasing scope and complexity.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches for well-defined problems.
• Support construction activities and ensure timely release of engineering designs.
