Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Civil Engineer for the Substation Engineering team in downtown Cincinnati, OH. The role covers design of distribution and transmission substations from 4kV through 345kV across Ohio and Kentucky, with multi-project scheduling and thorough engineering release packages.

The Engineer III/Senior Engineer levels require strong technical and communication skills, with progression from routine to complex projects under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or PE.
• Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience for Engineer III.
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years with state PE for Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Structural steel design.
• Reinforced concrete design.
• Foundation designs including mat, spread footer, and drilled shaft.
• Review site development designs.
• Drawing review for assigned projects.
• Engineering support during construction.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively to coordinate work.
