Job summary

Dashiell is seeking a Substation Engineer to perform HV substation design and protective control work. Based in The Woodlands, TX, you will develop design documents, perform calculations, and ensure NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards are applied across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years in substation engineering design; senior levels 7+ years.
• Knowledge of substation systems from 34.5 kV to 500 kV.
• Familiarity with electrical relays used in the power utility industry.
• Experience in designing electrical schematics, connection drawings, and cabling.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and drawings, including wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Perform relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations with minimal supervision.
• Apply software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and studies.
• Review schedules and coordinate with project engineers to maintain timelines.
• Travel to job sites as required and contribute to quality control and design accuracy.
