Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services (trading as PWR), seeks a Substation Engineer in Dallas to design substations from 34.5kV to 500kV, applying protection and control practices. This role reports to the Supervising Engineer at the Dallas office, with the possibility of placement at Engineer I–III based on experience.

Responsibilities include creating design documents, performing relay and load-flow studies, applying NEC/NESC/IEEE standards, coordinating with customers, and traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in substation engineering design.
• Licensed professional engineer or ability to licensure within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and drawings for substations and wiring diagrams.
• Perform relay burden, load flow, and short-circuit calculations with minimal supervision.
• Apply NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards to designs.
• Review schedules and coordinate with project engineer to maintain timelines.
• Travel to job sites for training and project needs as required.
