FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to develop and manage engineering designs and standards for the Substation Engineering group.

Located in Greensburg, PA or Reading, PA, the role involves design work from project estimation through construction, ensuring safety, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The candidate will support substation and transmission teams, work with Real Estate and Project Management, and may travel to supplier sites.

Competenze

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (BSEE, BSCE, BSME) from an ABET accredited institution is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Engineering experience is required.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate preferred.
• Engineer in Training / Professional Engineer license preferred.

Mansioni

• Create engineering designs and work scope for substation projects and confirm documentation is available.
• Prepare bills-of-material and specifications for equipment and materials.
• Provide engineering support to substation and transmission personnel and other teams.
• Review manufacturer drawings for compliance with specifications and perform design reviews as needed.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with outside engineering firms, vendors, and consultants.
