Job summary

EDG Inc in Metairie, LA seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead the development and implementation of electrical design requirements for oil & gas projects, including power generation, distribution, protection, and control systems, aligned with client specs and applicable codes and standards.

You will coordinate with other disciplines to ensure an integrated design, travel offshore as needed, and support pre-FEED/FEED activities and commissioning.

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in electrical power generation and distribution for oil & gas.
Experience with multi-discipline project teams and cost estimates.
Knowledge of ANSI/NEMA/NFPA/API/UL/IEEE codes and standards.
Willingness to offshore travel and domestic travel as required.

Responsibilities

Lead an electrical design team for power generation, distribution, protection, and control systems.
Prepare and review power/control philosophies and drawings.
Prepare equipment specifications and datasheets for electrical systems.
Develop electrical models using ETAP, EDSA or SKM and perform system calculations.
Prepare layouts, wiring diagrams, and construction packages.
Support FEED/pre-FEED cost estimates and procurement efforts.
Assist field teams during construction, testing and commissioning.
