Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Substation Design Engineer in the United States to execute and lead substation physical and protection and control design projects. You will read and design one-line and three-line drawings, wiring diagrams, and grounding studies, create bills of materials, and support the full project lifecycle from scoping to implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with 4+ years of related substation design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with 8+ years of related substation design experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical and/or protection and control projects.
• Perform quality control checks on substation physical and/or P&C design projects.
• Read and design one-line drawings, three-line drawings, schematics, wiring, plan-section drawings, conduit drawings, and grounding drawings.
• Create and check bills of materials for substation physical and/or P&C projects.
• Provide complete project lifecycle support from scoping through final design and implementation.
• Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements to design processes.
• Work with client standards to implement designs.
• Collaborate with designers/drafters to create required project drawings.
• Support construction activities.
• Attend occasional customer-site visits.
• Visit the Framingham Leidos office occasionally for team collaboration.
• Work as part of a design team comprising engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
• Maintain project quality, scope, schedule, budget, and safe-work compliance.
