Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Substation Design Engineer Intern to join our team in the greater Southwest region. You will assist with substation design drawings and engineering calculations for electric utility clients under the guidance of a senior engineer.

You will collaborate with a project team, perform self-checks, and use our information systems to track progress. Local candidates only; on-site position with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (ABET-approved).
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing physical or P&C substation design drawings and calculations for electric utility clients.
• Perform self-checks to ensure work quality before review.
• Coordinate project activities with senior engineer and project manager.
• Use client/company systems to track design progress.
• Assist senior engineers during site meetings to gather scope of work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
