Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer responsible for overseeing engineering and consulting services for US clients. The role includes physical layout design deliverables and coordinating design activities across departments.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of experience, and familiarity with NEC/IEEE/ANSI standards. EIT certification is strongly preferred; the position is based in the United States with onsite requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years related experience (master’s may substitute for 1 year).
• EIT certification strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs and execution plans for substations.
• Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details.
• Protection and control design including panels and diagrams.
• Studies and reports calculations (grounding, lighting protection, load studies).
• Equipment specifications for procurement and testing.
• Lead coordination with Civil/Structural, Networks and Transmission teams.
• Develop and improve processes, tools, and technology implementations.
• Field support during construction.
