Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer for substation design and consulting across the United States.

You will create physical layout designs, deliver wiring and protection schemes, and coordinate with civil and network teams to support large transmission projects from concept to construction. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of related experience, and preferably an EIT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• EIT certification strongly preferred.
• Masters may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs and execution plans.
• Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Physical substation design including yard layouts and grounding.
• Protection and control design including panel and wiring details.
• Grounding, lightning protection, and AC/DC power systems studies.
• Equipment specifications for procurement and testing.
• Lead coordination with Civil/Structural and other departments.
• Develop and improve design processes and tools.
• Client correspondence assistance and field support during construction.
• Additional involvement in relay settings, 3D modeling, or technical committees.
