Quanta Government Solutions is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design tasks, including layout, grounding, protection and control systems, while adhering to safety and construction standards. You will work with a team of engineers, designers, and drafters across the QISG platform, reporting to a Supervising Engineer. Four bands exist for progression as skills grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is highly desirable.
• Curiosity about substation components and willingness to learn is required.

Responsabilités

• Design physical substation components including yard layouts and grounding.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Prepare design drawings, calculations and bills of material from engineering documents.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure project accuracy.
