Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, through its subsidiary WECTEC Staffing Services, is seeking a Substation Construction Manager for a 1-year contract. The role focuses on safety, QA/QC, and coordination with engineers and contractors on solar/BESS substations, with a pay rate of $70.00–$75.00 per hour.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of construction leadership experience, knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, and steel drawings, and the ability to manage RFIs and change

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience.
• Experience leading large-scale substations and multi-discipline teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to ensure you complete projects.
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality and specifications.
• Communicate with team members, clients, and other team members throughout the project.
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
• Experience leading construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.
• Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
• Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization.

About the role:

We're looking for a Substation Construction Manager on behalf of our client. This is 1 year contract assignment.(W-2) The Department: Solar/BESS Substation:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Experience with company procedures
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to ensure you complete projects.
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality, ensuring and specifications
• Communicate with team members, clients, and other team members throughout the project
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections
• Experience leading construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts
• Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
• Experience with safety regulations and practices, including the ability to find and address hazards
• Resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stay on track.
• Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders
• Perform material procurement and material take offs
• Review project after completion and report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement
• Work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels
• Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction
• Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience.
