Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Lead Supervisor, Operations for its Outsourced Substation Construction group in New England. The role ensures safe, timely, and compliant project delivery by managing contractors and leading a skilled workforce across electric substations.

The position requires extensive supervision experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with internal partners and external contractors, including outage planning and safety oversight.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of construction supervision experience or relevant degree/certification.
• Experience in Electric Substation construction techniques.
• Experience in civil construction techniques and excavation.
• Ability to travel within the service territory and work extended hours/weekends as needed.
• Proficiency with MS Windows applications (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate Construction Supervisors; allocate resources to meet safety and project goals.
• Drive performance through early project involvement and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure safety standards and compliance across all contractor activities.
• Mentor team members and guide bid package preparation and construction means.
• Coordinate schedules, outages, and environmental/OSHA requirements.
