Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Civil Engineer for our Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Group to design electrical substations in our Atlanta, GA office. You will lead civil design, support permitting, site layout, grading, and stormwater analysis while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Under minimal supervision, you will guide engineers and drafters, develop construction specs, cost estimates, schedules, and proposals, and ensure compliance with WSP standards and client

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE degree.
• 7–10 years of post-education civil engineering experience.
• PE exam completed successfully.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to lead junior staff and manage multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency with design software and technical writing abilities.
• Commitment to QA/QC and safety policies.
• Ability to work beyond a standard week when project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for electrical substations and support permitting.
• Develop site layout, grading, and stormwater analyses for projects.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and regulate interfaces.
• Prepare civil construction specifications, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, clients, and subcontractors professionally.
• Review constructability and ensure designs meet standards and safety requirements.
