Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Civil Engineer for our Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Group in Atlanta, GA. You will lead the civil design for electrical substations, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and support permitting, site layout, and stormwater analyses.

You will supervise engineers and drafters, develop construction specifications and proposals, and ensure project deliverables meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering) from an ABET-accredited college.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) exam completed (NCEES).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to lead junior team members with QA/QC adherence.
• Experience with design software and civil construction processes.
• Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and meet safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers, designers, and drafters with minimal supervision.
• Perform civil design for electrical substations including permitting, site layout, and grading.
• Develop civil construction specs, cost estimates, proposals, and schedules.
• Prepare stormwater calculations to meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and ensure constructability and compliance with standards.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
