Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician 1 in Vancouver, WA for a contract, hybrid role. The technician supports substation design by producing drawings, BOMs, and documentation, collaborating with engineers and external teams. Strong CAD skills and familiarity with substation concepts are preferred.

The position emphasizes independent work, data management in ProjectWise/SharePoint, and occasional field trips with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering, CAD, or related field.
• At least 1 year of related engineering/ CAD experience.
• Knowledge of drafting practices and substation environments.
• CAD experience including creating/modifying drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary plot plans and one-line diagrams for substation scoping.
• Draft from engineers and as-built drawings using CAD while following standards.
• Create/modify drawings for substation equipment, data systems, and layouts.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to support project schedules and design needs.
