Job summary

Actalent, Vancouver, WA, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Tech to support BPA’s Substation Engineering group. The role involves CAD drafting for substation projects, design drawings, and data management, collaborating with internal TEES/TEE teams.

The contract position located in Vancouver, WA, calls for 6 months of related experience and CAD proficiency. Hybrid work arrangement and access to BPA design templates are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 6 months of electrical engineering experience required.
• Understanding of electrical power substation, protection and control.
• 6 months of CAD support experience required.
• Experience with CAD drawing management and data storage/records maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary plot plans, one lines, and grounding drawings for substation scoping.
• Draft work from engineers using CAD and apply standards for capital/expense projects.
• Produce indoor/outdoor substation and facility design drawings and required documents.
• Use CAD and ProjectWise for design production and data management.
• Review design concepts with engineering staff and provide technical input.
• Coordinate designs with contracting firms and internal design groups.
• Assist with policy/process/technical procedure updates.
