Aecon is hiring a Substation Apprentice to begin building a career in substation construction. You’ll support field crews, learn installation practices, and develop core technical skills under Foremen and Supervisors.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of substation field experience.
• Interest in developing a long-term career in substation construction.
• Strong work ethic and safety‑first mindset.
• Good communication skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily substation construction activities under the direction of experienced crew members.
• Begin interpreting Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and support redlining as directed.
• Support installation activities across various substation scopes.
• Learn proper use of tools, materials, and consumables in a construction environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and actively contribute to Aecon’s safety culture.
• Proactively ask questions and seek guidance to build technical knowledge and skills.
