Job summary

Altitude Energy LLC in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Substation Apprentice to join our Substation division. This field-only role involves travel as required and reports to the Foreman, with emphasis on safety and hands-on learning in electrical power construction.

You will attend apprenticeship trainings, gain experience reading drawings, and work with crews on switchgear, transformers, and control wiring, while developing your craft and upholding our core safety values.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license with a clean MVR and CDL preferred or obtained within six months of hire.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent.
• Completed a certified Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties assigned by supervisor.
• Attend quarterly apprenticeship training in person.
• Attend monthly safety and apprenticeship Teams calls.
• Track apprenticeship hours timely and accurately.
• Read, understand and follow contract documents/drawings; ensure work complies with contracts.
• Produce quality work and upholds company policies and procedures.
• Uphold Altitude’s Core Values; be a team player and solution-oriented.
• Stay calm under pressure and communicate professionally with coworkers and sub-contractors.
• Escalate safety or project concerns to supervisor.
• Assist in various routine substation construction tasks.
