Merakey seeks a Substance Abuse Specialist in New Orleans, LA, to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The role provides individual therapy and group facilitation for clients with co-occurring disorders, emphasizing recovery-oriented care and client-centered planning.

Responsibilities include creating treatment plans, updating crisis plans, conducting annual assessments, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other human service related field.
• LAC, CAC, PLPC, LMSW or Counselor in Training (CIT) licensure.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and recovery-driven service system.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual substance abuse therapy and facilitate substance use disorder groups.
• Create and review person-centered treatment plans and annual substance use assessments.
• Meet clients where they are in treatment using Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction techniques.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation including progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans.
