Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist to join the ACT Team in Alexandria, LA. You will provide individual therapy and facilitate groups for customers with co-occurring disorders.

You’ll develop and review treatment plans, document progress, and apply Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction techniques while working with a multidisciplinary team. Competitive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services.
• LAC, CAC, PLPC, LMSW or Counselor In Training (CIT) licensure/eligibility.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and recovery-driven service system.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license and ability to obtain state/federal clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual substance abuse therapy and facilitate groups for ACT team members.
• Create and review person-centered treatment plans and crisis plans; complete annual assessments.
• Use Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction approaches in treatment.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation including progress notes and summaries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support clients in treatment.
